How do genital warts spread

Genital warts are caused by the human papilloma virus. Like many sexually transmitted disease, genital HPV infections often do not have signs and symptoms that can be seen or felt. One study reported that almost half of women infected with HPV had no obvious symptoms. If you are infected but have no symptoms, you can still spread HPV and genital warts to your sexual partner. Are genital warts contagious after treatment?

Genital warts are highly contagious. They are most often transmitted by skin-to-skin contact during vaginal, anal, or (in rare cases) oral sex with someone who is infected. About two-thirds of people who have sexual contact with a partner with genital warts will develop them, usually within three months of contact.
Genital warts are very contagious. So you can get them or spread them easily. Genital warts can spread through vaginal, oral, and/or anal sex. It takes about 3 months since time of contact with an infected person to develop genital warts.
Anyone who has sexual contact is at risk for developing genital warts. Actual sexual intercourse is not necessary for genital warts to spread. Genital warts can spread by genital rubbing or heavy petting.

Genital warts can also spread through heterosexual (men and woman), man to man, or woman to woman sexual contact.
Using condoms may prevent you from catching HPV from someone who might have it. However, condoms can't always cover all of the affected skin.
Genital warts do not spread by coming into contact with a toilet seat. But, sharing sexual toys can spread genital warts.

Are genital warts curable?
Genital warts are easy to remove with common treatment. However, the recurrence is annoying. Preventing genital warts from coming back is the key.
