What Causes Genital Warts


Genital warts are caused by the Genital Warts (HPV). HPV is a family of more than 80 common viruses. Many types of HPV cause harmless Plantar Warts. These warts are often found on the fingers or feet. Only a few types are thought to cause genital warts.
There are several ways to get rid of genital wart in men but none of these treatment methods provide permanent cure. Human papilloma virus causes them, which is a highly contagious disease.

Important facts about HPV:
HPV infection spreads from one person to another through sexual contact involving the anus, mouth, or vagina. You can spread the warts even if you do not see them.
You may not see warts for 6 weeks to 6 months after becoming infected. You may not notice them for years.
Not everyone who has come into contact with the HPV virus and genital warts will develop them.

Genital warts nearly always arise from direct skin to skin contact:
* Sexual contact. This is the most common way amongst adults.
* Oral sex. HPV appears to prefer the genital area to the mouth however.
* Vertical (mother to baby) transmission.
* Auto (self) inoculation from one site to another.
* Fomites (i.e. from objects like bath towels). It remains very controversial whether warts can spread this way.

Genital warts are contagious and are transmitted by sexual contact with an infected partner. Approximately two-thirds of people who are intimate with an infected partner will get genital warts within three months of contact.
Genital warts are the result of an infection of human papillomavirus. Reducing the Risk of Genital Warts
Men and women can reduce the threat of HPV infection and genital warts if they observe the following:
Avoid any form of contact with genital warts
Abstain from sexual intercourse
Observe monogamous sexual relationship
Get vaccinated against HPV
Use condoms when having sexual intercourse
If you are not infected with genital warts or in case you already have them and don't want to spread the infection, then it is imperative that you undertake the necessary measures to mitigate the risk factors that are related to its transmission.
